Is You Business App Getting Enough Love?

Business apps can be the way to go, especially since more people are accessing businesses using mobile apps today. However, it won’t do much good for you to have an app if you don’t promote it.

So, how should you promote your app to your audience and to potential customers?

How to promote your business app

Use Your Website

Your company’s website is the first place to go to promote your app.

You can include a link to download the app, but also take the time to explain the benefits of having it.

It may be to compare prices while customers are out shopping or for some other reason, but make it clear why they will benefit from having your app on their devices. Include a special offer they can receive if they download your app.

Use Your Email

Send out a special message to your email list that is all about the app.

This will catch the attention of anyone who has signed up for offers in the past even if they don’t visit your website regularly. You can also include a special offer here for downloading the app, too.

Include it in Your Social Media Profile

Mention your app in your social media profiles.

Include it as part of your business information. Mention it in your LinkedIn Groups, Yahoo groups, Google+ Hangouts and other places where appropriate. Tweet about it or create special posts on your app.

Just don’t forget that it is a marketing post, so you will want to include it along with non-promotional posts and tweets.

To avoid redundancy when posting about your business app, try to include a new feature or function of the app in a small tidbit. Mention a quick tip on how or when to use the app that will appeal to customers while still reminding them about its existence.

Explain Your App

Create a blog post either on your own blog or as a guest blog on how to use your app. Include screenshots to make it more interesting and effective. Make sure readers know how downloading the app will benefit them.

You can also create a video of your app that you can add to YouTube or on your own blog or website that explains it. You can also share it on your social networks for even more awareness.

Promote the app to review sites. Once you get a few favorable reviews, you can mention them on your social networks, thereby increasing the power of your online reputation.

The great thing about all of these methods is that they are low-cost or free. This allows businesses of all sizes to have equal exposure for their business apps, even if they are on a tight budget.

Don’t Forget the Power of Offline Advertising, Too

Lastly, include a link to your app on business cards, stationery and other print materials. Many people utilize apps while they are shopping, so if they see yours in a print ad, they just might stop and download it right then.

Treat your business app just like your website or physical address and include it every chance you get. This will ensure that more people know about it, and you’ll see the number of downloads increase.
